French town's ban on drying laundry outside is nonsense
Drying outside saves energy - and avoids damp air inside
To the Editor,
I think it’s awful that they are banning people from hanging out their laundry.
When it is outside from a first floor upwards, it should be allowed, it’s the most ecological way to dry plus it makes a town look alive, lived in and even colourful.
Drying clothes inside could cause condensation and damp issues which in turn can affect health.
People won’t necessarily want windows open in winter whilst their clothes are having to be dried indoors.
Why can’t the law just leave people to live their lives in peace. Go out and catch some real criminals instead.
