Some shaped the modern world and others fought in the shadows
Armenian-born Missak Manouchian, a hero of the French Resistance, entered the Pantheon on February 21. He was the 82nd person to be interred there. The 83rd person was his wife and fellow resistance fighter Mélinée Manouchian.
Mme Manouchian is the seventh woman to be interred in the Pantheon alongside the titans of French culture such as Voltaire, Emile Zola and Victor Hugo.
