Tickets for a new ski night train will soon be available to buy in France, for an overnight service that will enable travellers to go to sleep in Paris and wake up in the Alps.

From December 19, 2025, the ‘ski night express’ will link Paris and Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie) in an overnight journey of around eight hours. The service - official name the Travelski Night Express - will be run by Travelski, a subsidiary of leisure group Compagnie des Alpes.

There will be a total of 14 return journeys between December 19, 2025 and March 20, 2026, with fixed departure and arrival times aimed at giving travellers the longest time possible on the slopes.

The train will serve eight resorts in the Tarentaise Valley:

  • La Plagne

  • Les Arcs

  • Tignes

  • Méribel

  • Val d'Isère

  • Les Menuires

  • Val Thorens

  • Courchevel

The train will also serve two other stations before it terminates: Aime, and Moutiers.

“Departures will be on Friday evenings arriving on Saturday mornings, and returns will be on Saturday evenings arriving on Sunday mornings, allowing passengers to enjoy eight days of skiing,” the company states on its website.

The service will not be the only winter ski train in France; for example, Eurostar also typically runs its ‘Eurostar Snow’ service from December to March, having relaunched in 2024 after pausing the service from 2020 due to the Covid health crisis.

Tickets

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on the Travelski website for the first journeys from May. They will be included in a package that will also cover:

  • Transfers to the slopes

  • Accommodation

  • Ski passes

  • Ski equipment hire (optional).

The trains will have 660 berths plus a bar-restaurant car.

There will also be areas reserved for women travelling alone, and private cabins with bunk beds, for families travelling together, for example.
