The global ranking also looked at customer service and food and shopping facilities

Toulouse scored highly among French airports but relatively low worldwide

A study rating airports by the on-time performance of flights, customer service, and the airports’ food and shopping facilities sees France score poorly.

Toulouse ranked as the best airport in France in 2025, closely followed by Lyon Saint-Exupéry, and EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg, a new global ranking has found.

Toulouse scored 7.64 out of 10, with a 7.6 for punctuality (“On-Time Performance”), 8.3 for Customer Opinion and 7.2 for in-airport services (“Food and Shops”), shows the AirHelp world’s best airports 2025 list.

Lyon Saint-Exupéry came in just behind with a 7.64 overall AirHelp Score (the same overall score at Toulouse, but with lower scores for On-Time and Customer Opinion); followed by EuroAirport at 7.62 overall.

“Some of this data once again confirms the strong punctuality performance [of these airports],” AirHelp said.

France low worldwide: Best and worst

Compared to global and European nations, however, France ranks relatively low on punctuality, with just 70% of passengers departing on time overall (for a 30% disruption rate).

Other major French airports to rank were:

  • Toulouse came in 101st place out of 250 airports overall by global score

  • Lyon was in 102nd place

  • EuroAirport was in 108th place

  • Paris Orly came in 117th (overall score of 7.59)

  • Bordeaux-Mérignac came in 135th place (7.51)

  • Marseille Provence Airport was in 143rd place (7.46)

  • Nantes was 149th (7.45)

  • Paris Charles-de-Gaulle was in 184th place (overall score of 7.28)

  • Nice in 211st place (7.10).

Nice scored lowest of all the French airports ranked, just behind Paris Beauvais (which was in 200th place, overall score of 7.20).

“These figures place France towards the bottom of the league table for punctuality in Europe,” said AirHelp. “The country ranks third in Europe for the worst punctuality results, surpassed only by Greece (33% of flights disrupted) and Portugal (36%).”
