Flight updates: Nice-Cork, Strasbourg UK links and passenger trends

Four more routes to start in 2026

Jet2 announced its Leeds–Bergerac route would return for the summer 2026 season

Nice–Cork route launches for summer

Irish airline Aer Lingus will launch a direct route between Nice and Cork from May 2. Flights will run twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays until September 30, with one-way fares starting around €70. It is the airline’s second service from Nice, alongside the Dublin route.

Jet2 adds Strasbourg for Christmas markets

UK low-cost airline Jet2 will operate winter services from Strasbourg to Edinburgh, Manchester and London (Stansted) between late November and December.

The flights coincide with the city’s famous Christmas market and will run up to twice weekly from each UK airport.

Last year, Jet2 announced its Leeds–Bergerac route would return for the summer 2026 season. The service is scheduled to begin in late May and run until September.

Seasonal Jersey–Paris service from May

Regional airline Loganair will introduce a seasonal service between Jersey and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from May 31 to October 22

Flights will be scheduled three times weekly, with tickets starting from £94.99. Authorities on the island hope the route will help boost French tourism after visitor numbers fell last year.

Passenger numbers fall at Toulouse airport

Traffic at Toulouse-Blagnac airport dropped by 2.8% in 2025 to around 7.6 million passengers, remaining about 21% below pre-pandemic levels.

Officials partly blame the closure of an easyJet base and higher aviation ticket taxes. Low-cost airlines now account for around half of the airport’s passenger traffic.
