To the Editor,
I write in response to news that residents and visitors will have to pay extra to park SUVs in the city in Bordeaux.
I am getting really tired of the persecution of SUVs, especially from a country that is incapable of building a decent car with a decent-sized engine.

It is a CritAir 2, whereas my girlfriend’s mother’s Peugeot 306 is a CritAir 3!
In a couple of weeks, I will be driving back to the UK on business. I will drive 2,500 miles in comfort.
I seriously considered other transport options including flying, trains and a hybrid.
The car worked out cheaper, quicker, more convenient and more practical and I am happy to share my findings.
So to all countries, especially France, give us a break!
