BREAKING: Paris airport staff to strike on July 17
Multiple unions call on workers to walkout over Olympic bonus row. Severe disruptions are possible

Four major unions have called for airport staff at Paris’ two major airports to strike on July 17, less than two weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in the capital.
The CGT, CFDT, FO and UNSA unions announced they will file a strike motion for that date.
They had previously threatened action throughout the summer period if management at the Aéroports de Paris (ADP, which operates both Charles de Gaulle/Roissy and Orly airports) did not agree to requests.
The main demands of the unions are for airport staff from multiple sectors to receive Olympic bonuses for working during the games – as employees in other groups are set to receive – and an improvement in worker conditions.

Unions said they had “suspended their participation in all forms of meetings with management [at the ADP]” after “a unilateral decision to only offer some, but not all, staff an Olympic bonus”.
It is currently unknown how many flights will be affected nor if another round of strikes will be called later in the month.
On July 10, however, airport management said flight disruptions should be 'minimal', although delays for people inside the airport may be an issue.
Further information will be made available closer to the strike date by unions, the ADP, and the French Civil Aviation Authority.
Note that this strike motion will not involve air traffic controllers, who have previously committed to an ‘Olympic Truce’, and said they will not strike during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
