American carrier Delta Air Lines has announced a new flight between Boston and Nice, bringing the number of direct US-Nice flights to five.
Launching on May 17, 2026, three flights per week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – will connect the cities throughout the year.
It will join direct services to New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Atlanta, as well as to Montréal in Canada.
Tickets are not yet available to purchase through the Delta website but are likely to be there soon.
“The opening of this new direct route between Nice and Boston by Delta is part of a long-standing partnership between our airport and this company,” said Chairman of Nice Côte d'Azur airport Franck Goldnadel.
“Delta has always played a pioneering and key role in the connectivity of the Côte d'Azur with the United States and… the economic, tourist and cultural ties that unite us. This is excellent news for our passengers, our partners and the international attractiveness of the Côte d'Azur,” he added.
Tourism boost for region
The Riviera – and local capital of Nice in particular – is becoming increasingly popular as a destination both for American tourists and those looking to make a more permanent switch.
“The United States is now a key market for the Côte d’Azur tourism economy,” said Côte d’Azur France Tourisme following Delta’s announcement.
“In 2019, Americans represented 9% of international tourists [in the area]. This rate… exceeded 15% in 2024, with more than 660,000 stays,” it added.
“American visitors are now among the top three foreign customers and occupy the first place in commercial accommodation during the summer season. This high-purchasing clientele is distinguished by an average spending of more than €175 per day, more than double that of a French tourist,” said president of the group Alexandra Borchio-Fontimp, who is also a Senator in the region.
