The sale follows a judicial seizure as part of a court ruling in 2021.
A 400-year-old historic monument
The private château, which is some 45 minutes by car from Paris, was commissioned in the early 1620s by Thierry Sevin, the then President of the Parliament of Paris. It has been owned by only four families over the centuries, according to the town’s website.

“It has undergone almost no major modifications, making it a fine example of a Louis XIII château, characterised by a combination of brick and sandstone”, the site says.
An official report published on the Vench property website highlights that “the château has been protected as a historic monument by decree of 24 May 1974… This protection applies to the facades and roofs, the entrance hall, the staircase and the lounge with its decorative features, the staircase and the drawing room with its Empire decor.”
In addition to the main building, the property includes several outbuildings, an outdoor swimming pool, a gardener's cottage with five outbuildings, a small farmhouse, two large houses each measuring 178.39 m², and a large farmhouse measuring 126.30 m².
There is also a dovecote, stables, a gymnasium, a horse riding arena and a polo practice area.
