A nationwide recall of batteries used in solar panel installations is underway in France due to a fire risk.
The batteries, produced by South Korean company LG Energy Solutions (LGES), are used to store excess solar panel energy, but risk overheating and starting a fire.
These batteries were used by dozens of companies across France in projects between April 2017 and September 2018 where panels were installed on private properties by third-party solar panel installation companies.
The following models are subject to the recall:
RESU 10
RESU 3.3
RESU 6.5
RESU10H_DLT
RESU10H_SEG1
RESU7H_DLT
RESU7H_SEG
A PDF showing the serial numbers of all concerned can be found here – this PDF also shows you where to find the model type of the batteries used in your installation.
In addition, a list of companies which used the batteries is available here.
Those affected should contact LGES to arrange for replacement batteries.
LGES can be contacted via its European number, +49 6196 5719 699 (note this is a German call code so may incur additional charges) or emailed at: customerservice@lgchemsupport.zendesk.com.
Further information about the recall can be found on the official RappelConso website.
