Crit’Air air pollution car stickers: can you get these by post in France?

Dozens of new low-emissions zones were introduced earlier this month

The stickers cost €3.11 plus postage

Millions more drivers in France now require a Crit’Air sticker on their vehicle, showing the level of pollution it emits.

These stickers are required on all vehicles that drive through a low-emissions zone (zone à faible émission, ZFE) in France.

Recent changes saw dozens of new ZFEs introduced in January 2025 as they became mandatory in all urban areas with 150,000 or more residents.

The stickers are required for all vehicles – two and three wheelers alongside cars – including foreign-registered cars. Drivers who do not comply risk a fine.

One Crit’Air sticker covers a vehicle in all French ZFEs and can be purchased online via the official site for €3.11 (plus postage, which differs depending on location).

Do I need to use the website?

The purchased Crit’Air sticker will be posted to you for attachment to your vehicle.

If you cannot use the website to purchase a Crit’Air sticker you can manually complete and send a form via the post.

Note this is only possible if your vehicle is registered in France with a French certificat d’immatriculation.

A PDF version of the form is found here (only the first page of the document needs to be posted).

You need to provide details about your vehicle including number plate, registration information and your address, as well as include a cheque for €3.81 (the same price including postage for a Crit’Air purchased online for a domestic French vehicle).

The cheque must be made out to the ‘Imprimerie Nationale SA’.

The address to which to send the form is:

BP 50 637
