Car fuel sold at cost price this weekend at many Intermarché outlets

Supermarket chain Intermarché will be selling petrol at cost price across a number of stores this weekend. 

The deal will be available at hundreds of stores owned by the supermarket giant – which recently took control of many former Casino stores – across France. 

Stores will sell the fuel at cost price during their opening hours on Friday (July 5) and Saturday (July 6).

You can find a full list of participating stores here, and you do not need to be a member of the supermarket’s loyalty programme to benefit. 

Fellow supermarket chain SuperU announced that it would also provide fuel at cost price one weekend throughout the summer period, however it has not yet stated which. 

Intermarché may also run multiple weekends where fuel is at cost price – last summer, they ran a similar campaign on two weekends.

Other supermarkets such as Leclerc and Carrefour – who have previously run such promotions – have not made any announcements. 

TotalEnergies, the largest manager of petrol pumps in France, has not announced any fuel sales. However, the group has committed to keeping fuel prices capped at €1.99 per litre until the end of 2024.
